A ton of work was put in to enable EMRs such as the Computerised Patient Support System 2 (CPSS2) and the Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM) to handle COVID-19 related cases more efficiently, such as the following:Reconfiguration and enhancement of its modules to allow for COVID-19-related functions, such as receiving mass download of travel and quarantine alertsCreation of new functions such as auto-infection rule, SMS reminders, doctor ordering setup, new order items, bed reallocationsUpdating of health precautions, travel history questionnaire, existing templatesGeneration of COVID-19-related data and reports and supporting increased requestsExtending the EMRs to new facilities such as ED care areas and holding site. For a sense of the scale of changes, SCM and CPSS2 had 200+ and 50+ changes made to it respectively to support COVID-related functions.
