Today, IHiS has one of the largest concentrations of healthcare IT talents in the Asia Pacific region. We need to grow further our employees' capabilities to develop innovative healthcare-IT solutions to enhance patient-care. To facilitate this, we adopted the National Infocomm Competency Framework (NICF) to ensure a focused and systematic competency and learning roadmap for our employees. NICF is a national infocomm roadmap which articulates the competency requirements of key IT professionals.
44 job roles were identified in the Applications, Architect and Technology Management departments. Each role is classified into 3 NICF levels i.e. entrant, specialist, expert. Each job role has a Competency and Learning Roadmap, comprising a list of recommended programs to guide the employee's professional development.
Given our fast-paced and ever changing business environment, IHiS succeeds only because our workforce is dynamic, flexible and knowledgeable. We strongly believe in continuous learning where everyone is given every opportunity to learn, grow and develop their relevant capabilities and interests, achieving both business and personal goals.
For our efforts in hiring, developing and retaining talent, IHiS has been acknowledged by the Tripartite Alliance for Fair & Progressive Employment Practices (TAFEP). We were awarded with the Human Capital Partnership mark by Minister of Manpower, Mr Lim Swee Say, in February 2017.
As a recognised Human Capital Partner, we help our staff build their careers, within a job role or across job roles. They are able to make horizontal, lateral moves and enable greater exposure to large-scale projects. There are also two tracks for advancement - the technical track and management track. Technical track is for the individual who aspires to be a technical expert in the specified technology or domain, while the management track will enable staff to assume responsibilities of a people manager. There are opportunities to move through the web of job roles as long as they are able to define their long term career plan.
