In close partnership with the healthcare institutions, the CIOs of the restructured hospitals work closely with IHiS teams to ensure that the overall IT strategy is aligned to the healthcare institutions’ business strategy in the following areas :
- Visioning, discovery and formulation of an IT strategy for e-health at the cluster or institutional level
- Leveraging on Health Informatics trends and strategies for better care co-ordination and more effective and efficient access to patients’ electronic medical records including technology trends, standards (e.g. Messaging, coding, terminology standards), and process management
- Due considerations on governance, system and data ownership, security and patient confidentiality, stakeholders accountability and responsibilities to ensure a successful e-health strategy and implementation
- Overseeing application landscape for healthcare institutions that will eventually lead to a national eHR

Care Continuum Management
The focus of Care Continuum Management programmes is to support the provision of healthcare along the care continuum. This includes solutions to support right-siting, care coordination, and care integration. Major programmes include the Chronic Disease Management programme, and Delivering on Target (DOT) programme.

Clinical and Ancillary Systems
We work closely with our institutions to provide system services and solutions in the clinical and ancillary or allied health areas. This includes the full suite of EMR solutions such as order management, results management, clinical documentation, and access to patients’ electronic medical records. Ancillary systems include Pharmacy system, Picture Archiving and Communications Systems/Radiology Information System (PACS/RIS), and Laboratory Information System (LIS). These programmes enable our institutions to improve their capabilities to provide better and safer care for our patients.

Business Systems
Our Business Systems address the operational, financial and management needs of our Institutions. This includes patient management, patient billing, bed management, and appointment scheduling services for our hospitals, specialty centres and polyclinics. We also provide IT systems and services to support the functions of Finance, Business Office, Materials Management and General Procurement Office (GPO).
